There are a host of options for sunbathing, whether you’re travelling as a couple or in a larger group, including water beds and sunbed-filled huts that accommodate up to 20 people. When it comes to refreshment, Iris offers a delectable array of light bites, from skewers and wraps to the Iris Beach Tray of salads, mini burgers and other tempting nibbles. The cocktails are similarly appealing, with punches and ‘pop-tails’ on offer alongside fruity virgin juice blends and an exceptional wine list. Iris’s Electric Sundown shows, featuring elite international DJs, start at 5pm and go on into the early hours.

The C Flow Beach Resort on the Jbeil coast is equally appealing for a weekend or a day trip. Facilities on the resort’s sandy beach include comfortable Flying Beds’; alternatively, the pool overlooks the beach and is surrounded by Jacuzzis and the pool bar. Book one of the Jacuzzis, which accommodate four, six or 10 people depending on your group size, and receive beach and pool access for your whole squad, as well as towels and a free bottle of rosé wine. The C Casual poolside eatery, which offers burgers, sandwiches and pizzas, isn’t the only dining option; C Flow’s beach bar offers stunning views across the clear water and a generous happy hour runs from 6pm until 9pm. The C Horse grill and restaurant provides a Lebanese menu with plenty of light and healthy options, including fresh fish, salads and traditional mezze dishes.

A more low-key but no less charming seaside spot, Pierre and Friends is perched right next to the shore in Batroun and offers perfectly cooked fresh fish and an excellent selection of drinks. The scenery is captivating and you can stroll right down to the sea; though take care as this beach is rockier than others on our list, so a pair of aqua shoes is advised.
