This marine city was established in 1990 in the Red Sea Governorate, north of Hurghada, about 22 km and 470 km from Cairo. Today, El Gouna is  one of the most attractive resorts in the Middle East and Africa.

El Gouna is built on a group of small islands that connect with each other through stone bridges. The city is designed by international designers in a way that ensures a blend of heritage and modernity.

Activities in El Gouna range from marine activities such as swimming, diving, hunting or wilderness such as safari, golf, horse riding, parasailing, hiking, tennis, squash, volleyball. There are also great gyms in the city.

The city has 6 main neighborhoods:

Marina Town

This Quarter overlooks the Red Sea and includes a marin located opposite the chalets with a capacity for about 126 yachts. Marina Town is located in the 21 km north of Hurghada and it is the preferred choice for the aristocracy and the elite of society because it is one of the finest areas in El Gouna. The Quarter includes a variety of local and international shops, cafes and restaurants.

Golf Quarter

This Quarter is characterized by the green areas surrounding it. It includes large areas for playing golf. The colorful buildings of this Quarter overlook a wonderful artificial lake. In front of this Quarter there is another Quarter named West Golf – or Western Golf.

The Mediterranean Quarter

The villas and chalets in this Quarter are typical of Mediterranean country buildings, overlooking artificial lakes. The neighborhood is filled with tropical trees and grass that gives a magical touch to the place.

The Hill Quarter

This Quarter is located on a high Hill, which enables you to see the entire city in a wonderful panoramic view. It is 15 meters above the sea, and most of the buildings in this neighborhood are designed in the Tuscan style in Italy.

The Italian Quarter

This Quarter was designed by famous Italian engineer “Roberto Boni” in a way that will make the visitor feel that he lives in Italy. The Quarter is characterized by its brightly colored buildings and the spread of umbrellas and sea chairs on its beaches.

This Quarter is located between the city center and the Italian Quarter. It was built in the Nubian style, which is characterized by the domes above its buildings. The simplicity and beauty of the design of its houses, popular cafes, hotels and historical fragrant ways make it one of the most attractive areas in the city.
